Behind Headwaters is Briana Scott, a Certified Bookkeeper and QuickBooks Online Certified accounting professional with more than six years of experience supporting businesses and complex organizations as an accountant.
Throughout her career, Briana has prepared financial statements, managed month-end close activities, reconciled balance sheet and income statement accounts, supported more than 40 organizations, prepared federal and state tax returns, and worked closely with auditors, tax professionals, finance teams, and business leaders. She has also managed sales and use tax compliance across more than 100 jurisdictions, supported approximately 15 state tax audits each year, and helped recover approximately $9 million in overpaid sales taxes.
That broad experience shapes the way Headwaters approaches bookkeeping today.

Beyond the books
Meet Briana
Briana graduated cum laude from SUNY Brockport with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. After building her career in New York, she moved west to Utah and brought with her a love of working closely with people, solving complicated problems, and creating order out of details.
Outside of accounting, Briana is happiest outdoors. She loves hiking, camping, gardening, and exploring everything Utah has to offer. Cooking and baking are her biggest passions, and she considers herself the Martha Stewart of her own home... just without the staff, the magazine empire, or chickens willing to cooperate for photos.
Someday, she hopes to put that domestic confidence to the test on a self-sustaining farm of her own, complete with a sprawling garden, cows, and far too many dogs to count!
Whether she is organizing a set of books, experimenting with a new recipe, or planning her future homestead, Briana believes that the strongest results begin with a thoughtful, well-built foundation. That same belief is at the heart of Headwaters Accounting.
